These poems are brilliant and wise and funny. Congratulations to your father for writing them and to you for honoring him. It seems unusual for shaped poems to be done so consistently well.

I found another (perhaps earlier) version of this poem, undated, in a steno notebook labeled “The Shadow Box” on its cover with the name “Norm Pearl” and an address and phone number on 6th Ave in New York City. It follows versions of “The Shadow Box,” and “Litany”. The writing is in blue medium width marker on both sides of each page, so the writing from one side bleeds through to the other.
